The Benefits of Hospice Care

Purpose:

To explain the many benefits of hospice care for patients and their caregivers, thereby reducing fear and promoting timely acceptance of hospice services.

   
Description:   Fear of death and dying is prevalent in American culture. Often physicians and caregivers hesitate to discuss end-of-life care, even when patients are ready for such planning. This workshop demonstrates how Medicare hospice benefits are designed to ease patients’ suffering and reduce caregiver strain. It clarifies common misconceptions about morphine usage and how long hospice care can continue.
