In the fall of 2019, I cured myself of the chronic pain I’d had for the past 18 months. I did so through reading, performing simple writing exercises, using affirmations, and practicing a daily 10-minute Qigong routine. Not only did my back, shoulder, and heel pain resolve, the headaches I experienced 4-5 times a week were reduced to once or twice a month. Here are some of the chronic pain resources I used:
- Chronic Pain Science with Dr. Paul Hansma, retired UCSB physics professor and chronic pain expert.
- Interview with Dr. John Sarno on his 2007 book “The Divided Mind.” Dr. Sarno was a Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine, New York University School of Medicine, and attending physician at the Howard A. Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, New York University Medical Center.
- Documentary ‘All The Rage’ Dr. John Sarno: hear testimonies from Dr. Sarno’s patients and about the documentary on his work, “All the Rage: Saved by Sarno,” available for rent or purchase through YouTube.
- Audiobook: “Healing Back Pain” by Dr. John Sarno
- Treating Pain Using the Brain with David Butler, an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of South Australia, Honoured lifetime member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association,
physiotherapist, researcher, educator, and clinician with a passion for understanding and explaining pain. - The Reign of Pain Lies Mainly in the Brain with Howard Schubiner, MD, a clinician, author and researcher who has conducted ground-breaking research on a treatment plan that can resolve, rather than manage, chronic pain.
- 8 Simple Movements of Qigong for Beginners by Jake Mace, Martial Arts Instructor at Phoenix Longevity Arts.
