Life Lessons – Part Four of Four: A Bad Day is Almost Always Followed by a Good DayOne of the pediatricians gave us these words of encouragement early on and we
clung to them in the weeks that followed. The time Michelle's apnea was so bad that her alarm went off six times in one
hour, I told myself that a better day was likely tomorrow. When we came in to find one of the girls back in an incubator because
her temperature had dropped, I looked forward to the next day. I was never disappointed. By far, this is the lesson I've
fallen back on the most during the past 19 years. Experience shows me repeatedly that a bad day really is almost always followed
by a good day. Avoid the emotional roller coaster, excess information can be bad for your health, keep things
in perspective, and a bad day is almost always followed by a good day - not bad coming from two so small their combined weight
was less than a sack of flour. Just imagine what they'll have to teach me as adults!
